A solo car accident on Highway 152 near Dinosaur Point on Monday morning resulted in the death of a male passenger, the California Highway Patrol confirmed.
The accident was reported shortly before 10 a.m. in rainy conditions on the highway just west of the summit.
The driver of a 2000 BMW 5 Series lost control in the rain, went up an embankment and back down before rolling over several times, according to CHP Office Chris Miceli.
A rear passenger, believed to be age 86 from Gilroy, was not wearing a seat belt and died in the accident, Miceli said.
There were two others in the vehicle, the CHP reported. An 18-year-old female from Gilroy sustained major injuries, and a 49-year-old female from Los Banos sustained minor injuries, according to preliminary information from the CHP.
