The San Benito County Arts Council and Community Media Access Partnership TV are partnering to offer classes where students will bring clay to life through video animation.
The four-session “Claymation” workshop begins Jan. 21 and runs through Feb. 11 at the council’s ARTspace at 240 Fifth St. in downtown Hollister. The classes will be held from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursdays.
The workshops cost $80 per student, which covers the cost of registration and materials, including the use of an iPad Mini. The classes will be led by Artist Stephanie Skow and Video Producer and Editor Ian Slattery.
Participating students will learn about clay-making, stop-motion animation, narration, music and storytelling by creating their very own claymation videos using iPads.
This program is presented by the San Benito County Arts Council, in partnership with CMAP, as part of their Community Art Education Program. It is made possible through the support of the California Arts Council, Community Foundation for San Benito County, United Way, Monterey Peninsula Foundation and the City of Hollister.
