The Santa Clara County coroner’s office released the identity of the Tres Pinos teenager killed Monday in an accident on Bolsa Road as Alexander Armlin.
The 17-year-old from Tres Pinos died at the scene of an accident Monday on Bolsa Road after his 1988 Chevy traveled across double-yellow lines and sideswiped a vehicle before hitting a tree, according to the California Highway Patrol in a statement.
The teenager was northbound at about 60 mph on Bolsa Road north of Bloomfield Avenue, according to a witness, the CHP statement explained. The second vehicle, a 2002 Nissan driven by Miriam Tinoco of Gilroy, was southbound on Bolsa Road north of Bloomfield Avenue at about 35 to 40 mph.
After the teenager’s Chevy traveled across solid double-yellow lines and sideswiped the Nissan, it continued forward across the southbound lane of Bolsa Road and off the roadway where it struck a tree before coming to rest at the bottom of an embankment, according to the press release.
It is unknown if alcohol or drugs were a factor in the collision, the CHP noted.
