Garcia/Esquivel
Diana R. Garcia and Osbaldo Esquivel will celebrate their 1-year anniversary on Nov. 19. The couple was married Nov. 19, 2005 at Sacred Heart Church in Hollister.
Diana is the daughter of Luis and Rosemary Garcia of Hollister. She graduated from San Benito High School in 1998 and received her associate’s degree in child development from Gavilan College. She is employed at San Andreas High School as an instructional aide.
Osbaldo is the son of Abel and Martha Esther Esquivel. He graduated from San Benito High School in 1997 and attended Gavilan College. He is employed as a utility worker for the City of Morgan Hill.
The couple plan to do some traveling for their anniversary.
Wedding
Hammelev/Sander
Marcia Hammelev, of San Francisco, was married to Ole Sander, of Herning, Denmark, on July 15. The bride was born in Gilroy and the groom was born in Godthaab, Greenland.
The ceremony was held at Holckenhavn Castle Chapel, in Nyborg, Denmark, with a black tie reception held at Holckenhavn Castle.
The couple will relocate from the Bay Area to Hong Kong on Jan. 15, 2007.

Cindy Murphy
The Employee Awards Committee of the City of Gilroy recently announced Finance Director Cindy Murphy as the Employee of the Month for September. Cindy has worked with the city for more than eight years, She was nominated by Human Resources Director LeeAnn McPhillips, who said Cindy is always willing to brainstorm with her colleagues on financial matters and other managerial issues.
Denise Olsen
Denise Olsen recently won a quilt contest held by Piece by Piece quilters of the Morgan Hill quilting guild. The group then donated $4,250 to the Breastcare center at Saint Louise Regional Hospital.
