I am writing to commend your paper and Paul Grannis for his
column on Saturday. I usually find myself unable to complete
articles regarding our district attorney as I find them filled with
innuendo, unproved allegations and gossip. Facts are usually
coupled with rumors in hopes of validating them as well. However,
Mr. Grannis’ column was well written, direct, factual and very
refreshing.

I usually find myself unable to complete articles regarding our district attorney as I find them filled with innuendo, unproved allegations and gossip. Facts are usually coupled with rumors in hopes of validating them as well. However, Mr. Grannis’ column was well written, direct, factual and very refreshing.
I cannot say the same for your top article on the same date. It is disheartening that our daily paper chooses to print information that often misleads the trusting reader to draw false conclusions. Many bar association members are defense attorneys, those whose profession it is to oppose the district attorney, a fact never mentioned. Those who do not know the workings of the system could easily be swayed to think a no confidence vote means the district attorney’s peers feel he is inept. Instead, it is simply his opposition jumping on the bandwagon to remove an elected official who has worked hard to update and bring our county justice system in line with other counties by taking an aggressive stance against crime and favoritism.
I would hope that your paper continues more articles like Mr. Grannis’, and less that side with the few people who take politics beyond its parameters, revealing their serious character flaws and lack of moral turpitude.
