Regarding the story “Anger and Valor: Iraq two years later,” (Free Lance May, 26-28), I am a 54-year-old veteran of Vietnam. The calls to the young men to join and defend freedom, and the claims that dissenters were committing treason, sounded all too familiar to me. So does the fact that we are wading into another conflict halfway around the world in an area in which we cannot control the borders, and where we are considered outsiders.
