Editor,
I’m confused!
I read about Measure L but I’m unclear about some of the details:
The Free Lance keeps reporting the average homeowner will pay $14.95 per $100,000 of assessed property value. The voter’s pamphlet states $24.36 per $100, 000.
This is just not assessed for homeowners but all secured and unsecured property including certain businesses, ranches, boats, aircraft, hangars, mobile homes and more. This has not been stated in what I’ve read especially in the voter’s pamphlet. It also doesn’t state it as a 30 year bond.
The posters say “Vote Yes for local Emergency Care.” They should say “Vote Yes for Local Hospital Emergency Care,” because it is not for local emergency fire, police, sheriff or ambulance services.
Am I the only person who is confused by the wording of this measure? Did I miss something in my reading? The County Assessor’s Office has more details.
