Editor,

Writing is easy when you have fresh news. This week a few things happened that made me interested in getting involved. I’d like to start with the good news.

The hospital election succeeded with the majority of the voters. That percentage doesn’t happen in all of the contests. I like to see the respect people have for the hospital. This is a place we almost all end up.

I have a different vision for a new hospital with lots of room to last for years to come, but I agree with the decision. I never had any problems siding with the majority.

I would like to congratulate our Board of Supervisors for a job well done. They were elected to make changes. So far, in my opinion, they are doing a good job.

I feel all the people who got involved against Measure G – 69 percent against it – approve of your performances. Don’t let the losers bother you. They had their way and did lots of damage for too long.

This county is desperately in need of jobs. I just had a talk with an old carpenter and asked where they are working. He said, ‘We just finished a house in King City and now we are remodeling a house in Salinas.”

These are people with good reputations who have been making a living in this county for at least 30 years or more and are not able to have a job here. This is the effects of the poor losers who screwed up the whole thing.

Shame , shame! In my opinion, it is enough of this.

As far as the ethics committee, I feel we have enough government for a small county. There should be rules that people follow or be disqualified. The losers like to go by the other counties when it is convenient for them. Otherwise, they just flare.

If they are so concerned about being like other counties, but don’t agree to create jobs like they do, I call them selfish.

As far as the dismissal of our planning director, I agree with our Farm Bureau President Paul Hain. In my opinion, he found the right words to describe it. Things have been getting harder along the years with so many restrictions that the majority of the people are disgusted.

A change is overdue for the sake of the county and the people. If you have no idea, try to develop two or three houses. They keep stripping you and stripping and you might come out with a couple dollars, but in the end you feel like you’ve been castrated.

Nothing but the truth and just my opinion.
