Editor,

I was saddened to hear about the closing of Dorothy McNett’s Place. I really enjoyed shopping there and buying from many of the unique products that are not readily available locally. I also believe that the beautiful architecture of the building and the character of the business really made for a harmonious combination.

Hollister’s downtown area has so much charm and historical value. I hope we continue to support local stores and restaurants to prevent the closure of other businesses. One of the lessons that I’ve learned living in Hollister all of my life is how important it is to buy from our local stores and merchants. In the future, I hope that our downtown will continue to flourish and represent the unique and genuine people of San Benito County.
