Haybalers firing on all cylinders with a 14-2 record in
preseason play, league action begins tonight in Gilroy against the
Mustangs
Tri-County Athletic League play begins tonight for the San Benito High volleyball team. And, if the squad’s preseason success can be seen as any kind of indicator for what the upcoming weeks hold in store for them. the Haybalers should be in fine shape as they travel to Gilroy tonight to face the Mustangs in their league opener.

The ‘Balers had a big weekend at the Westmont/Saratoga tournament, taking first place in the 18-team event by going undefeated against some tough competition.

Hollister’s wins came over Woodside (25-20, 25-16), Lynbrook (25-15, 26-13), Notre Dame San Jose (25-17, 25-18), Monterey (25-12, 21-25, 15-10), Saratoga (25-18, 25-23), and Westmont in the finals (25-17, 25-12).

Chelsea Fowles led the team in assists with 119 and chipped in 14 aces and 36 digs.

J.T. Temperino led the team in kills with 54 and had 44 digs. Emily Kortsen finished the tournament with 33 kills and eight aces.

Bri Romero had 32 kills and added 34 digs while Ari Romero led the ‘Balers in the digs category with 48.

Ali Sharp was the team’s lead blocker in the tournament with 10 kill blocks.

The Westmont/Saratoga Tournament was the second tournament win in a row for Hollister.
