Tax Service: AARP Tax-Aide Program offers free tax counseling and preparation assistance to taxpayers with middle and low income, with special attention to those age 60 and older Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1 to 5:30 p.m. at the Community Center, 300 West St. By appointment only, those who need held preparing their tax returns should bring the tax package they received in the mail, last year’s return and all relevant information on income and expense. disaster assistance: Small businesses are eligible to apply for low interest disaster loans to offset economic losses because of reduced revenue to farmers and ranchers caused by excessive rain and wheat stripe rust in 10 California counties. Small businesses may apply for economic losses that are attributable to the following incident dates: San Benito County from April 1-May31, 2003. The deadline to apply is June 23, 2004.
