Dear Editor,

Four years ago, both Al Gore and George Bush released their military records. Mr. Kerry has not released his military records.

On Feb. 18, 1966, John Kerry signed an officer candidate contract for six years, five years active and one year active reserve. There was also a requirement for one year inactive standby reserve.

John Kerry’s early release from active duty in 1970 obligated him to two years ready reserve. He was transferred to the Naval Reserve Manpower Center at Bainridge, Md. Did he attend the required drills or nominal two weeks active duty each year? There is no public record of his satisfying these requirements.

John Kerry received an honorable discharge in March 2001. What kind of discharge did John Kerry receive in 1972?
