Mendiola/Fonseca: Amanda Mendiola and Sammy Fonseca were married May 3, 2014.
Amanda is the daughter of Armando Mendiola and Delia Torres of Hollister.
Sammy is the son of Samuel and Rosa Fonseca of Hollister.
The wedding was held at Sacred Heart Church in Hollister.
ANNIVERSARY
Celebrating 60 years
A 60th wedding anniversary celebration was held May 4, 2014 to honor Carol Khan and David D. Agaliotis Sr. at Mama Mias Restaurant in Morgan Hill. More than 150 friends and family joined them in marking the milestone event. The couple has spent most of their married life in Morgan Hill. They have eight sons, three daughters, 14 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and one more on the way.
A celebratory cruise to Alaska is planned for later in the summer.
HONORS
Mariah Martinez
Mariah Martinez recently received the President’s Volunteer Service Award signed by Barack Obama. There are three levels: gold, silver and bronze—she received gold. Mariah, a sophomore at Humboldt State University, was part of the first graduating class of Christopher High School in 2012.
Meagan Medina
Meagan Medina of Morgan Hill recently graduated from Simpson University with a bachelor’s degree in psychology. Simpson University’s graduation ceremony took place April 26, when 127 undergraduates received diplomas.

Sara Griffis
Sara Griffis, of Gilroy, recently graduated from the University of Alabama in Huntsville with a degree in nursing. Sara has been hired as a nurse in the Oncology Department of Huntsville Hospital, where she will pursue her life-long desire to be a registered nurse.
Sara is a 2006 graduate of Gilroy High School.
