In a special engagement, El Teatro Campesino will present a unique two-night experince in San Juan Bautista with the slick, sharp and rockin’ stylings of the Taco Shop Poets Friday and Saturday with both performances at 8 p.m.

Formed in 1994, the San Diego-based poetry group has toured around the country performing for audiences with their distinctive blend of live music, video and poetry. The group’s latest CD, “Chorizo Toungefire,” has already received much acclaim.

Multimedia performance and live music give the Taco Shop Poets a style that is uniquely their own and will should capture the hearts and minds of poetry lovers everywhere.

Taco Shop members include Adrian Arancibia, Adolfo Guzman Lopez, Tomas Riley, Miguel Angel Soria, Michael Figgins and Kevin P. Green. They are devoted to creating community empowerment through the arts as well as to explore venues of artistic expression.

This is the last opportunity to watch them perform locally before they go back to Southern California.

Tickets are $15 for adults, $12 for students and seniors, and $10 for children 12 and under.
