I’m writing in regard to the Sept. 5 opinion column “Sarsfield vs. Cantu, get ready to rumba.”
What is Mike Fitzgerald talking about? Does he know Art Cantu’s background?
First off, I do all the boxing promoting in this town. Don King and his electrified hairdo and Bob Arum with his well-know pug face ask me for permission, and big Ken Crow, he’s the best for wrestling, and the only thing this fight will have to do with anybody lying on the canvas is when Sarsfield is lying there sleeping, waiting for the count to end.
Mr. Fitzgerald, did you know that not only does Art Cantu knock out district attorneys in the courtroom, but he has a background in boxing. Mr. Cantu is an avid participant of my boxing gym.
Not only does he train there, but is a great help with the kids, as well as a sponsor.
Mr. Fitzgerald, for you to size these two men up and come up with the conclusion that it would be even is a big error in your part. If these two men fought, you would have to change Sarsfield to Scarsface. Mr. Sarsfield, I mean no disrespect to you. I’m just stating facts, and if you were to axcept a challenge and the Free Lance would sponsor the event, what better way for you to give something to the kids of this community.
After all, isn’t that what you as the district attorney would like to see, these kids having money for the betterment of this community? After all, it would make your job easier.
I applaud you for winning the race for district attorney, but at the same time wonder if you have bitten off more than you can chew.
You came into this community not knowing what the kids of this community need or want. After all, if you get to the children early, they become better adults, which in turn makes your job easier.
Again, Mr. Sarsfield, I mean no disrespect. My interest is for the kids of this community.
