There are about 1,900 ballots yet to count from the San Benito County election last week, an official said Thursday.
The county elections office released its latest results Wednesday evening and as of Thursday had an estimate of 1,500 more regular ballots along with about 400 provisional ballots, said Francisco Diaz, senior bilingual deputy clerk for the county office.
Another 1,900 ballots would bring the total countywide turnout to about 59 percent, according to the figures.
Diaz also shared the number of ballots remaining in relatively close, prominent races. In District 2 for the Hollister council, there was an estimate of 110 ballots left to count. In the District 4 race for county board, there was an estimate of 194 ballots lefty to tally.
In the latest counts from Wednesday, Mickie Solorio Luna extended her lead over Victoria Montoya for the District 2 Hollister council seat, while incumbent Jerry Muenzer was holding on to a narrow advantage in the race for District 4 supervisor, according to the latest election results.
Those results released Wednesday evening showed Luna with 614 votes to 558 for Montoya, a 51.95 percent to 47.21 percent margin. They are vying to succeed former Councilman Robert Scattini, who moved into District 3 and lost in that race to Karson Klauer.
The incumbent supervisor Muenzer held a lead of 1,721 to 1,692 votes, or 50.32 percent to 49.47 percent, according to the results.
