This is one of the cats up for adoption.

The Hollister Animal Shelter is selling cats for $10 the rest of this month, as it has a group of “really nice” adult felines in need of adoption, according to the shelter manager.

It tends to be more difficult to adopt out adult cats, so the shelter hopes the low price – which covers the cost of a rabies vaccination, while they also come spayed or neutered – will entice local families to bring home a feline friend, said Julie Carreiro, the shelter manager. Plus, it’s not really kitten season right now, Carreiro noted.

The adult cats going for $10 range in age from 10 months to eight years.

The Hollister shelter does not maintain a time limit for its animals before potential euthanization.
