The San Benito County Arts council will open the 2013 Open Studios Preview Exhibition May 3, from 5 to 8 p.m. with an opening reception to coincide with the first Friday of the month at the Blak Sage Gallery, 727 San Benito St. The exhibition will feature the artwork of more than 29 local artists and artisans, many whom will open up their studios on June 1 and 2 so visitors can get a glimpse of them in their workspace.

The opening reception will feature a variety of mediums from oil painting, watercolors, woodwork, ceramics, jewelry, textiles, prints and more. The event will feature music, a wine tasting featuring four local wineries and light refreshments. The reception is free and open to the public.

The preview exhibition will be on display through May 29 at the Blak Sage Gallery. The gallery is open Wednesday and Thursday, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Friday from 1 to 6 p.m., and Saturday from noon to 5 p.m. A map of the participating locations for the open studios tour is available online at www.sanbenitoarts.org.
