It’s difficult to explain why I love Kiara. She has wonderfully silky fur, bright blue eyes and an endearingly curmudgeonly personality.
Maybe it’s the way she gets so happy watching moths fly that she becomes cross-eyed. Maybe it’s the way she likes to sleep belly up in the field in the sun. Maybe it’s the way she waits for me to come home from work everyday and then tells me everything about her day – in fast paced cat speak.
If you love a cat, you love the cat on its terms. Kiara charms her way into the best seats on the couch, demands pets and always seems to find the sunny spots in the house.
I love her because she’s an unapologetic princess – and it’s entertaining. Cats are not really ones for small talk or blind affection. I love her on her terms. When she asks for a head rub or waits for me to get home each day, it’s endearing because it’s her way of saying she loves me and I know it’s sincere.
