Visitation will begin at 10:00 A.M., with Funeral Services at 11:00 A.M., Monday, August 1, 2016, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1670 Cienega Road, Hollister 95023. Ronald “Tim” Day, passed away Monday, July 25, 2016, in Hollister, CA.
Loving Husband of 49 years to his eternal companion, Irene Day of San Juan Bautista. Dedicated Father of Christine Gifford and her husband, Al of Washington, Tracy Day and his wife, Michele of Washington, Glenda Mora and her husband, John of Hollister, John Day and his wife, Jennifer of Oregon and Rebecca Tuft and her husband, Mark of Idaho. Proud grandfather of Tim and his wife, Jacque, Jessica and her husband, Jake, James, Michael, Jordin, Hunter, Mackenzie, Kennedy, Brian, Daniel, Abigail and Emma. Excited great-grandfather of Calvin. Brother of Ned Day of Virginia and the late Dannie Lou Bruce. Brother-in-law of Jim, Annette, Pat, Tim, LaVoy, Carol and Bernadette. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Born in Oklahoma City and raised in Southern California. Tim lived in the Bay Area for most of his life moving to Gilroy in 1979.
Faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Past President of the Gilroy Chamber of Commerce, Board member of the Gilroy Rotary, Lifetime volunteer with Boy Scouts of America including Silver Beaver Recipient and Scoutmaster. Tim was passionate about giving back to his community.
He generously served on numerous civic boards including the Planning Commission for many years, and with his wife, devoted countless hours for local volunteer groups.
A U.S. Army Veteran Officer, he served from 1966 – 1969. Tim is loved and will be missed by many.
