The 17th annual San Benito County Veterans Day Parade will spotlight World War II veterans as grand marshalls. If you have a family member that is a World War II veteran and would like to ride in the parade or be recognized, contact Frankie Gallagher at 831-638-6434. Classic cars will be provided as transportation in the parade for these distinguished honorees.

Spectators and participants will enjoy patriotic floats, classic cars, equestrian units, school groups, emergency agencies marching bands and more.

The parade, sponsored by VFW Post 9242, will be held as the finale for Veterans Day activities on Sunday, Nov. 11. The parade starts at 1:30pm and the parade route runs through downtown Hollister. Applications for the parade are available at the Veterans Memorial Building, or by calling 831-638-6434. There is no entry fee.

10am, Veterans Benefit Fair

10:30am, Banner presentations

11am, Memorial Ceremony

Noon, Barbecue Lunch

Banners that individually honor local active-duty military personnel will be installed on the lightpost in the Veteran’s Memorial Building Plaza and along San Benito Street. The banners will remain in place until the service member is deactivated.
