Incumbent Mia Casey is trailing challenger Roxanne Stephens for the Hollister mayor’s seat according to preliminary election results. With 29.24% of the votes cast, Stephens is leading with 3,749 votes to Casey’s 2,162 as of Tuesday night.

Casey is hoping to continue the work she began during her first term, with a focus on infrastructure improvements; economic development; transparency; and safety and quality of life.

Stephens is running on a slow growth platform set on curbing residential development and improving infrastructure.

“I’m excited about the big show support from Hollister residents,” Stephens said in a phone call Tuesday night. “So, yeah, i’m just thrilled, overwhelmed.”
