The Ferris Wheel spins at dusk Saturday.

The 33rd District Agricultural Association – which oversees the San Benito County Fair – is accepting applications for its chief executive officer.
The agricultural district is looking for someone to take on the full-time salaried position and succeed Kelley Ferreira, who retired in December after 27 years with the county fair. The position pays $5,219 to $6,382 per month, according to the job description.
According to the announcement from the district:
The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated knowledge and experience in developing and managing budgets, maintaining sound fiscal policy, day-to-day record keeping, preparation of board reports, other required reports, planning, organizational structuring,  business development, fund raising, grants, and sponsorship development Producing and directing community relevant programs, entertainment activities and special events, developing and implementing marketing plans and strategies, knowledge in the areas of purchasing, facility maintenance, public relations, contracting, and technology will also be required. The candidate must have the ability to work cooperatively and communicate effectively with staff and volunteers, the board of directors, governmental agencies, local businesses, media and the community.
