The county agriculture commissioner’s office is hosting two upcoming workshops for farmers and ranchers – on pesticide use and weed management.
The first workshop is set for 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Veterans Memorial Building, with registration and refreshments at 9 a.m. It is on pesticide laws and regulations. It is OK’d for two hours of continuing education by the Department of Pesticide Regulation, according to an announcement from the county agriculture commissioner’s office.
Then on Dec. 10, the San Benito County Weed Management Area is hosting its annual workshop at the Veterans Memorial Building. It will focus on topics of interst to the cattle ranching community such as weed control, wild pigs, squirrel control and other issues. Attendees are eligible for 2.5 hours of pesticide education. The workshop starts at 8 a.m., with registration at 7:30 a.m.
