The Monterey Bay Unified Air Pollution Control District released an air quality advisory due to the Cienega Fire southeast of Hollister.
Calfire crews had it 40 percent contained at 600 acres as of Wednesday morning. The fire is burning in a rural, rugged area of the county near the Hollister Hills off-roading facility.
The air district released an advisory and offered some tips including:
Avoid going for a run outside if it looks smoky.
If you have heart or lung issues, are older, or have children, consider staying indoors.
Indoors, avoid using anything that burns, including wood fireplaces, gas logs or gas stoves.
