Editor,

I have to laugh at the “anonymous” attempted recall of Jaime De La Cruz.

Brian Conroy, ex-councilman and former mayor of Hollister gives his telephone number at the www.recallcriminal.com Web site, which was easily traced to him by putting the phone number listed on the site and doing a Google search. In addition, by doing a “whois” query on NetworkSolutions.com, Mr. Conroy is the listed registrant of www.recallcriminal.com and he registered the domain name on January 20, 2005.

Does Mr. Conroy think the people of Hollister are so unintelligent that they can not find information that is practically at their fingertips? In less than five minutes I knew who is behind the recall. So much for being anonymous.

I refuse to support anonymous groups. If they do not have the courage to publicly stand up for their beliefs, then how do they expect citizens to stand up behind them?
