Spurred by a 10-0 run to start the third quarter, the San Benito girls basketball team beat Fremont Thursday night and advanced to the quarterfinals of the Central Coast Section Championships.

The 7th-seeded Balers won the home playoff game 45-30 and will move on to play Wilcox, (20-2 and the No. 2 seed) on Saturday at Hartnell College.

San Benito (15-10) used the third-quarter run to outpace Fremont, which finished the season at 13-13.
