Basketball: Hawks lose close game to Anchorpoint

The Hawks’ boys basketball team dropped to 1-1 in league play Tuesday, falling 35-31 to Anchorpoint Christian School in Gilroy.
Despite the loss, Anzar gave Anchorpoint a challenge until the game’s closing minutes, head coach Ed Cecena said.
“It was an evenly matched game, but they made some big shots at the end,” he said.
John Moreno led the Hawks in scoring with 13 points and Nick Salgado added 10 in the loss.
Anzar host York on Thursday. The game is expected to start at 7 p.m.
