A big-rig struck a man laying in the right northbound lane of U.S 101 north of Buena Vista Avenue early this morning.
The pedestrian died at the scene after the 2001 Peterbilt big-rig driven by a 49-year-old male from Moss Landing hit him about 1:50 a.m. The pedestrian’s age, name and hometown are unknown as the person carried no ID, according to the California Highway Patrol.
According to the CHP log, the coroner was called to the scene about 15 minutes after the accident.
There were no injuries to the driver, and no DUI was issued. The incident is under investigation, said California Highway Patrol officer Debbie Parra.
