After winning its seventh-straight Central Coast Section Division I title Saturday with a 8-3 win over Carlmont, the San Benito softball team was honored with nine Tri-County Athletic League awards including Most Valuable Player and Most Valuable Pitcher.

After rain washed out San Benito’s baseball game against Wilcox on Tuesday at the Valley Christian Tournament, the Balers played a double header against Chargers and Archbishop Mitty on Wednesday. In those games, San Benito went 1-1, beat Wilcox 6-1 and losing to Mitty 2-1 in 11 innings.
Two days after Gilroy High and San Benito combined for 17 runs, just four were needed to decide Thursday's Tri-County Athletic League game – and all four belonged to the Balers.
