Public health offers beat-the-heat tips
National Weather Service is forecasting temperatures in the high 90s through Tuesday for Hollister. The San Benito County Public Health department and the Office of Emergency Services issued a heat advisory Friday with tips on how to keep from overheating during the hot spell. The advisory offers tips on avoiding sunburn and heat exhaustion.
State releases heat wave precautions
Dr. Ron Chapman, director of the California Department of Public Health (CDPH), warned Californians to protect themselves against heat-related illness as parts of the state were expected to experience some of the hottest weather since the extreme heat of 2006 over the weekend.
