Like most games have been all year for the Gavilan volleyball team, the first round of the Nor-Cal playoffs was a tough grind for the Rams, even when it didn’t need to be.
Five turnovers cost the Gavilan football team Saturday in its last game before conference play begins in two weeks. The Rams allowed 43 points in the game’s first two quarters on their way to a 56-21 loss to West Hills Coalinga.
The Gavilan College men's soccer season ended Nov. 11, but the signs left behind tell of a turnaround campaign that included the most wins in program history. Led by first-year head coach Justin Johnson, the Rams finished 2011 with an 11-8-1 record - 7-7 in the Coast Conference - and received four selections to the postseason all-conference list.
