In a game where the San Benito boys basketball team only trailed at its outset, Monday’s Monterey Bay League tilt between Seaside and the Balers was anything but one-sided.
Behind 20 points from Hyram Miskin and a strong defense, the San Benito boys basketball team improved to 2-0 inside the Monterey Bay League’s Gabilan Division on Wednesday with a 42-26 win over Salinas.
Draped in upper-right wall of Mattson Gym, the boys league-championship banner lists only two titles under volleyball. With the Balers 3-0 victory over Watsonville on Tuesday, the boys volleyball team positioned itself one win away from adding a third.
After finishing its second tournament this year with a 3-1 record, the Balers improved to 16-3 on the season as they enter the final month of the season.
Despite a season filled with a coaching change, a plethora of injuries and a number of players entering the season late because of winter sports, San Benito has been, at times, dominant on the volleyball court.
