As the temperature kicked up last week so did the anticipation for the fun-filled week of Kids Rule Theatre Camp. Kristy Burchard, the founder and director of the program, and her team of volunteering teens and adults were ready to rock another summer of phenomenal performances. After much preparation, everyone was ready to kick off the program’s 11th year at Sacred Heart Parish School. Many of the people who helped make this program possible can be described as one big theatrical family. I was extremely fortunate to be part of this family once again as a camp counselor for one of the groups.
A small crew of Sacred Heart Parish School students, their parents and two teachers gathered to do a San Benito river bed clean up Saturday. San Benito High School chemistry teacher Mike Carroll, his grandson Riley, Sacred Heart science teacher Jim Ostdick and the other volunteers removed 1,000 pounds of trash from the river bed.

Thank you very much for running my ad in your newspaper for three weeks. Many people came, in spite of the rain, to drop off their old electronic goods. I am sure we did better than last year as it was in the newspaper longer than last year.
