The Nov. 4 Election Day brought a wave of new and familiar faces to school boards across San Benito County. Of the 17 school races in the county, eight garnered enough qualified candidates to appear on the ballot for a deciding vote.

De La Rosa & Co., an investment bank based in Los Angeles and San Francisco, has awarded a $2,000 scholarship to Jacob Garcia of Hollister’s San Benito High School.

SBHS to hold code red drill

HOLLISTER – San Benito High School administrators will hold a red code drill Aug. 29 at 11:15 a.m. The drill allows the school to practice emergency procedures. It is preceded by a loud siren that may be heard in surrounding neighborhoods.

Relay team connects with young survivor

While Hollister's Relay For Life is over, one little girl who helped start out the cancer survivor's lap on Aug. 3 has one more celebration coming her way.

Top 5: Hollister Relay For Life, Memorial golf tournament and more

Relay For Life: Hollister’s annual Relay For Life will be Aug. 3 and 4, starting at 11 a.m. on Saturday at the San Benito High School stadium. So far there are 40 teams signed up on the website, with 297 participants. Money raise online for Hollister totals $43,722, with more donations to be collected throughout the 24-hour event. The opening ceremony will be 11 a.m., with a survivors’ lap at 11:30 a.m. A luminaria ceremony honoring those lost to cancer will be held at 9 a.m. On Saturday, there will be a fight back ceremony at 10 a.m., followed by closing ceremonies at 11 a.m. To donate or find a team, visit www.relayforlife.org/ and search for Hollister.
