Top 5: Early Days, historical society meeting and more
Early Days: The San Juan State Historic Park will host an early days event June 15, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., in San Juan Bautista. The activities will feature docent dressed in period costumes, crafts and cooking demonstrations. Horse-drawn wagon rides will be available and visitors can purchase old-fashioned sodas in the saloon. Details: Call 831-623-4881.
Pinnacles dedication set for Feb. 11
The Department of Interior began circulating invitations Monday for a ceremony to redesignate Pinnacles National Monument as a National Park on Feb. 11 at the Pinnacles National Park Visitors Center on the east side of the park.
Briefs: Women’s Club holding student art contest
The Women's Club of Hollister will hold its annual student art contest at its Feb. 8 meeting. Students in kindergarten through high school may enter art work. Photography may be submitted from middle school through high school students. Photos should be matted with no glass frames. The deadline to have artwork picked up for the contest is Feb. 6.
