After playing three games in three days, the Anzar boys soccer team improved to 2-1-1 Wednesday with a 2-1 win over KIPP Collegiate in San Juan Bautista. It was the Hawks second-consecutive win after defeating Pinewood School 3-0 Tuesday.
After a Tri-County Athletic season that came almost too easy for the San Benito swim teams, Friday’s meet against Salinas represented the closest and toughest meet of the year.
San Benito lost its first game of the year Saturday. After opening the game with one run in the top of the first inning, the Balers lost to Valley Christian 7-1.
Despite missing a majority of its team because of basketball, the boys volleyball team opened the season with a three-game sweep of San Lorenzo Valley.
