San Benito’s David Kret will be the only Baler to compete in multiple events during the Central Coast Section championship on Friday at Gilroy High.

After taking first place in the Tri-County Athletic League championship last Saturday, the San Benito girls track and field team will be well represented at Saturday’s Central Coast Section prelims at Gilroy High.

Attempting to claim a second-straight Tri-County Athletic League title and a combined sweep of the league championships, the San Benito boys track and field team was stunned by upstart Palma during the TCAL championship at Gilroy High on Friday.

A little more than 10 months removed from a one-point loss in the Tri-County Athletic League championship to Notre Dame, girls track and field coach Bob Rawles was insistent that the championship was in the past and it was a new year.
