Nants Foley column ends
It’s hard to believe, but this is my last column here. I have
been writing this column for the Pinnacle for more than 12 years. I
have been through six editors and three owners. I have lasted
through bust and boom times in real estate. I have had wonderful
editors who allowed me to speak in my own voice.
Nants Foley column ends
It’s hard to believe, but this is my last column here. I have been writing this column for the Pinnacle for more than 12 years. I have been through six editors and three owners. I have lasted through bust and boom times in real estate. I have had wonderful editors who allowed me to speak in my own voice.
I have tried to bring you a balanced picture of the real estate industry: The good, the bad and the ugly. I have tried to share insider information with you, and brighten your day just a little. Two years ago I branched out and syndicated through the Central Coast. That was a fabulous opportunity for me, and I loved it.
Now I feel the need to branch out even more. I have decided to take my column online. The wave of the future for communicators like me is with blogging. So I now I have a blog.
You can continue to find my real estate column each week at www.nants.com. If you don’t have a computer and still wish to read the column, call me at 801-5110. I’ll take your name and number and mail you a printed copy weekly. Truly.
My husband, Tim, retired this year. I finished my terms on the Emmaus House board: It was time because I’m better at the creating and the opening than the day-to-day managing. (But don’t forget they could use your financial support and volunteer hours!)
We Foleys have turned our creativity and energy into a new venture for the benefit of San Benito County. We are currently creating a non-profit public benefit corporation called San Benito Bounty. The purposes of this corporation are:
1. To promote and preserve San Benito agriculture through regional branding and collaboration;
2. To raise awareness about and consumption of local products;
3. To assist producers with the building of time- and resource-efficient distribution of products;
4. To offer information and assistance for regional marketing efforts, new market identification and networking;
5. To collaborate with partners throughout the public and private sectors of San Benito County to celebrate sustainable agriculture and its historic agricultural heritage;
6. To encourage and coordinate eco- and agritourism efforts.
We are very excited about this, and I am going to have a blog there, too. That Web site will be www.sanbenitobounty.org but don’t go there yet … it hasn’t been built yet!
We have brought forth this proposal to massive approval and support. If any of you have input or collaborations which might dovetail with this effort, please contact me. This is a project for everyone to benefit the entire county.
But now it’s time to say good-bye to you, dear Reader. Thank you for all the kind words, criticism and feedback you’ve given me over the years. I have treasured each and every contact I’ve had with you. And a special thank you to all the newspapers and owners who have allowed me to be myself in my column week after week.
I wish for all of you a future filled with blessings and goodness. During these hard times, put one foot in front of the other and do the next right thing. Remember I’m never too busy for any of your real estate needs or referrals.
What have you learned from me over the years? Whoa, doggies: BE KIND TO YOUR REALTOR!
