Tax Service: AARP Tax-Aide Program offers free personal tax counseling and preparation assistance to all taxpayers with middle and low income, with special attention to those age 60 and older. Starting Tuesday, Feb. 3, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1 to 5:30 p.m. until Thursday, April 15 at Community Center, 300 West Street in Hollister. By appointment only, those who need held preparing their tax returns should bring the tax package they received in the mail, last years return and all relevant information on income and expense. Measure G Forum: A public forum will be held on Measure G. A panel of presenters will share their views on the growth control measure appearing on the March 2 ballot. The forum is sponsored by the San Benito Agricultural Land Trust. Historical Society: The San Benito County Historical Society will hold its monthly meeting Wednesday, Jan. 28 at 7 p.m. at the Dunne Park Club House, at Sixth and West streets. Italian Night: The Italian Catholic Federation will hold its annual “Night in Italy” dinner dance Saturday, Jan. 31 at Sacred Heart Church’s O’Reilly Youth Center, Sixth and College streets.

Hors d’ oeuvres and no-host cocktails will be served from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. followed by dinner at 8 p.m. and dancing. The menu includes barbecued chicken, homemade ravioli, salad, wine and dessert. Proceeds benefit local charities.

10-Mile Run: The 21st annual Mission 10 will be Saturday, Feb. 7. Race day registration begins at 8:30 a.m. The 10-mile run will begin at 10 a.m. and the 5-kilometer run will begin at 10:15 a.m. It is $20 to enter the race before Jan. 31 and $25 after.
