Culinary Classic: The Culinary Classic heralds spring with inspiring chef demonstrations all day long and marketplace vendors selling exotic and high-tech foods, culinary implements and decorative entertainment pieces. The show will be held at 940 N. Main St., Salinas, from 10 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 24. Admission is $10. A gala preview dinner is the night before, from 6 to 9 p.m. Admission to this special dinner is $50.

EARTH DAY: Hollister Hills State Vehicular Recreation Area, six miles south of Hollister via Cienega Road, is having an Earth Day event on Saturday, April 24 from 10 a.m. to noon.
