Christine O. Breen of Hollister recently joined the DeVries Law Group in San Juan Bautista.
Breen joins a staff of five in a general practice firm working in areas including real estate, land use, agriculture, construction, civil litigation, business, commercial and employment.
She has a bachelor’s degree in architecture from the University of California, Berkeley and a law degree from Santa Clara University.
Her interest in law goes back to her participation on mock court teams in high school, but it was when she worked for the state of California after graduating from U.C. Berkeley that she began to consider returning to law school. Policy decisions following the passage of the Americans with Disabilities Act finally propelled her back to school.
She has previously practiced with Fenton and Keller in Monterey and Hoge, Fenton, Jones and Appel in San Jose.
Breen, who lives in Hollister with her husband, Paul, and two sons, ages almost 6 and 3, said one of the benefits to working with the DeVries group is the end of an hour-long commute.
But everything is relative, she said. “I’m the lone commuter in the office,” she joked. “Everyone else can walk right to the office.”
The offices of the DeVries Law Group are at 53 Muckelemi St. in San Juan. The office may be reached at 623-4100.
