Safeway also recognized Brent Redmond for its focus on innovation and commitment to environmental sustainability. In 2010 they partnered with Safeway on an integrated communication strategy to provide near rea-time location tracking of their trucks in-transit and have made significant investment in refrigerated trailer technology and temperature monitoring, which has served to enhance their already superior cold chain execution and overall service offering, according to Safeway.
Brent Redmond also was recognized in 2010 as a top EPA Smartway carrier based on their overall performance scoring and their ongoing programs aimed at improving MPG and reducing CO2 emissions are well aligned with Safeway’s mission to reduce our carbon footprint as part of our overall social responsibility initiatives.
