Numbers don’t lie.

And according to the numbers, the 2007 Hollister Motorcycle Rally was an event of epic proportions. Whether it was of the same capacity as previous years, evidence gathered at this year’s event paints an interesting picture.

Bikers and visitors consumed more than 170 kegs worth of beer and chased that with an additional 450 cases spread out between the beer gardens and the major bars around downtown Hollister.

Bars such as Johnny’s and Whiskey Creek didn’t order kegs and instead stocked canned beer. Johnny’s sold 350 cases of beer or about 8,400 12 oz. cans of beer and Whiskey Creek went through more than 100 cases as well.

Fortunately there were more than 70 port-o-potties scattered around downtown to help with recycling that beer.

Likewise, there were plenty of shacks selling artery-clogging delicacies fried in fat or slathered with enough sauce to keep the beer company. In fact, this year’s rally had 11 different booths featuring barbecue of some type or another.
