‘3 Stories Tall’

Kirk Ward, a Hollister native who is living and working in Los Angeles, will perform his one-man show “3 Stories Tall” at the El Teatro Campesino Playhouse in San Juan Bautista through June 28. Performances will be Thursday – Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. Tickets for Thursday performances are $10 each. Tickets for other shows are $20 for adults, $15 for seniors and students and $12 for children under 12. Ward has performed the show at the HBO Theatre, The Comedy Central Theatre and The Aspen Comedy Festival. It uses drama and humor to reveal the adversity every young man and woman experiences when taking the path of the unknown. Texas Hold’em Tournament

The Hollister City Employee Relay for Life Team will host the second annual Texas Hold’em tournament Saturday at the Portuguese Hall, 695 Seventh St., from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Doors open at noon. Jeanie Watson art show

Jeanie Watson will have her artwork on display June through June 27 at the Galeria Tonantzin, 115 Third St. in San Juan Bautista. Downtown movie series

The movies under the stars series continues Thursday, half an hour after dusk with a screening of “Bee Movie” at the grassy lot on the corner of Fourth and San Benito streets. Barry B. Benson (voiced by Jerry Seinfeld) wants more from life than collecting honey and pollinating flowers so he escapes from the hive for a visit to Manhattan. There he makes friends with a florist named Vanessa (Renee Zellweger.). The show is set for Thursday after 9 p.m. at the corner of Fourth and San Benito streets. Admission is free. Pinnacles picnic

The Pinnacles Partnership will host its third annual picnic June 20 at RS Bar Guest Ranch. The event will include docent-led nature walks, birding expeditions, a barbecue from noon to 2 p.m., with a program from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., a star party at dusk and children’s activities all day. Overnight lodging is available. There is limited availability to visit the site where a pair of California condors are caring for a hatchling. Tours are limited to 30 people total, and depart at 9:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. Cost for members is $25 for condor viewing, but the barbecue and other events are free. Non-members can attend the barbecue and other events for $50, with an additional $25 charge for condor viewing. Festival in the Park

Santa Clara County Parks and Recreation will host its third annual Festival in the Park – Where wellness meets fun Saturday, June 20 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Hellyer County Park in San Jose. Exhibits will include more than 100 booths with health and fitness information and products, a food court and Kaiser Permanente’s Teddy Bear clinic, as well as demonstrations of fitness activities.
