follows Chicano slacker Sam who has lost his home, his money and
his marbles. Performances run through May 31 at the El Teatro
Campesino Playhouse, 705 Fourth St., in San Juan Bautista.
Performances will be Thursday through Saturday at 8 p.m. and
Sundays at 2 p.m. Tickets are $10 May 8-10, and for Thursday

Guerra Family Vineyards will host the first summer outdoor concert May 16 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., at 500 John Smith Road, in Hollister. Shake, Rattle and Roll car and motorcycle show

The Road Angels are looking for entries for the 3rd annual Shake, Rattle and Roll car and motorcycle show will be held May 16, at the San Benito County Fairgrounds from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Entries for pre-1973 cars and trucks, and any year motorcycle (with no hydraulics) are $25 if registered before May 1, or $30 at the gate. Those who preregister by May 1 will received a goodie bag and a T-shirt. The event will feature food, music and a raffle. Admission is free, but there is a $5 parking fee. Proceeds will benefit children’s diabetes.

Meet the artist at Mission Gallery

Artist Stephen McMillan will demonstrate inking and pulling multiple plate, color prints on an etching press May 16 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Mission Gallery, 106 Third St., in San Juan Bautista. McMillan’s work include aquatint etchings that will be on display at the Mission Gallery through June 7. Kids’ fishing and fun day

The Department of Water Resources and California State Parks staff and volunteers will host the 20th annual Kids’ Fishing and Fun Day at San Luis Creek on the O’Neill Forebay May 16, from 8 a.m. to noon. Children ages 3 to 15 may sign up. Free bait is provided, as well as a free lunch and other goodies. There will be free pontoon boat rides (if the weather is nice) and kids will learn the art of Japanese fish printing. Cost is $6 per car for a day use fee. Interpretive History Day at Gilroy Hot Springs

The Gilroy Yamato Hot Springs will be open to the public May 16, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for an interpretive history day. The event will include a walk through time that discusses the history of the springs from the Mexican land grant era to the Japanese-American ownership of the Hot Springs Resort. Acoustic entertainment will be held at the old swimming pool, and includes live jug band music, and there will be displays, docent-led tours and people in period costumes. Dog Days of Hollister

The Hollister Dog Owners Group will be hosting the Dog Days of Hollister May 30, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Dunne Park, West and Sixth streets. Well-behaved dogs over 6 months of age and their owners are invited to attend. Dogs should be on a leash at all times and have proof of a current rabies vaccination. Children under 12 or free. The Portuguese Society of the Holy Ghost will host its annual festival May 30 and 31. ‘3 Stories Tall’

Kirk Ward, a Hollister native who is living and working in Los Angeles, will return to San Benito to perform his one-man show “3 Stories Tall” at the El Teatro Campesino Playhouse in San Juan Bautista June 11-28. Performances will be Thursday – Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. Tickets for Thursday performances are $10 each. Tickets for other shows are $20 for adults, $15 for seniors and students and $12 for children under 12. Ward has performed the show at the HBO Theatre, The Comedy Central Theatre and The Aspen Comedy Festival. Pinnacles Partnership picnic

The Pinnacles Partnership will host its third annual picnic June 20. The event will include docent-led nature walks, birding expeditions, a barbecue from noon to 2 p.m., with a program from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., a star party at dusk and children’s activities all day. Overnight lodging is available. There is limited availability to visit the RS Bar Guest Ranch where a pair of California condors are carry for a hatchling. Tours are limited to 30 people total, and depart at 9:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. Cost for members is $25 for condor viewing, but the barbecue and other events are free.
