The San Benito High football team’s home opener on Sept. 12 has special significance—it’s a celebration of the military and first responders. In addition to tributes to the military and first responders before and during the game, interactive booths will be set up around the stadium so people can have a chance to interact with the hometown heroes. Special Haybaler Super Hero capes will be available for purchase ($10) and the first 50 kids who purchase the capes will have a chance to be included in the pregame festivities. The junior varsity game starts at 4:30 p.m. and the varsity pregame shows starts at 7, with kickoff at 7:30.
