Robert Lund has a slight edge over incumbent Rick Edge for two available seats on the San Juan Bautista City Council, while another incumbent, Maggie Bilich, will not retain her position.

Lund gained 40.4 percent of the tally with 301 votes counted. Edge had 39.2 percent with 292 votes. Bilich, elected in 2008, gained 20.4 percent with 152 votes, according to the unofficial results.

The elections office has completed counting most mail-in ballots – which have made up about half of all those counted in recent elections – and all of the polling place ballots. The office will finish counting remaining provisional ballots and late mail-in ballots before the results become official.
