Santa Ana Valley Road winds through the hills.

A 32-year-old Hollister man died after a solo-vehicle accident Thursday on Santa Ana Valley Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The accident occurred at 9:10 p.m. The driver, whose identity was not released by the CHP, was westbound on Santa Ana Valley Road east of Rodeo Drive at an unknown speed. A San Benito County Coroner’s Office spokesman could not be reached immediately to confirm an I.D.
For unknown reasons, the driver made an unsafe turning movement after a curve in the road, ran across the eastbound lane and overturned. He was ejected and sustained major injuries, according to the CHP.
Responders arrived on scene, treated him and transported him to a Salinas hospital with major trauma. He died at 3 p.m. the next day at the hospital.
Police suspect that alcohol was a factor, while the investigation continues.
