It is so nice to make changes! It is rumored that Supervisor
Kesler has recently received a very large inheritance. She is now
trying to change the rule so her opponents can only receive a
maximum donation of $250. Isn’t it strange that only applies to the
supervisor’s race?
Money can buy many things, but it cannot buy youth. Ms. Kesler,
you are 82. Take the inheritance and retire. People want a change.
What have you contributed to San Benito County in the three terms
you were supervisor? That is except being a puppet and a yes vote
for Boss (Scagliotti) Hog.

It seems Kesler and Scattini do not want their associates to campaign against them. Scattini told his helper if he ran, he was fired. Kesler wanted to remove her planning commissioner from the board. Boss Hog said no, it’s too soon to remove Dennis Madigan. Wait a while. This is America. Any qualified person can run in an election.

The latest rumor circulating or is it a fact? Boss Hog is to elevate Robert Mendiola as CEO in Gil Solorio’s present position. Scagliotti will put his friend Mandy Rose into Robert Mendiola’s present position.

Think about what has happened to our county the past 16 years. It’s nice to make changes! Let’s make changes of all the Supervisors back to represent all of the people all of the time.

Wake up San Benito County. It’s never too late to make changes!”

“I’m all for law and order, but six years for tying two firecrackers together seems a bit excessive. I think Deputy District Attorney Denny Wei was exaggerating when he called it a ‘serious device’ and said it could ‘even kill.’ Sure it could even kill – if you taped it to your skull and lit it with a flame-thrower.

I guess if a legendary prosecutor such as Denny Wei says it’s so, it has to be so.

However, on Chinese New Year, thousands of firecrackers are tied together and actually lit and nobody goes to prison for six years. There has to be a lot more to that story than was presented in your paper.”

“As a concerned citizen of San Benito County, I have to wonder about the motives that drive the Measure G proponents. It would seem to me that what should be considered is what is best for the residents of this county. Who better to decide what we should do with our land than ourselves.

That being said, why is Earthjustice (along with leaders of the Growth Control Initiative) vowing to appeal the decision made to uphold the March ballot measure? If what they want is also what’s good for the community, who are they to decide how our community sells and acquires land?

On top of the idea that the proponents obviously don’t think we are educated enough to make our own decision in March, they are adding court costs to an already strapped county budget. Defending the judge’s decision to let the measure remain on the March ballot will cost taxpayers money and I for one don’t want my tax money being wasted on needless judicial proceedings.

Proponents of the slow growth initiative, please give us lowly, uneducated country folk the opportunity to decide for ourselves what we want. It doesn’t cost a thing to wait for a vote and you may even get the outcome you want in the end.”

“It was mentioned that Reb Monaco wasn’t running for office and that’s true. But someone he’s a lap dog for is and that person is in the building trade. So that would be two of the three votes needed to control the board.”
